PACCK has developed a special partnership with Giant Steps, based in Montreal (QC). Giant Steps provides education and learning programs for children and youth with special needs in order to promote their wellness and diversify their life experience.
PACCK and Giant Steps have collaborated on a Volunteer Vocational Training Program in which students participate in the day to day training of PACCK therapy dogs. The goal of the program is to provide these youth with opportunities to develop practical skills in a real world setting. The program has the dual benefit of providing the students with critical work/life skills while providing our dogs with ongoing training, socialization and behaviour management sessions.
