Our education programs are designed to grow awareness among individuals and groups that play a critical role in facilitating the healthy integration of children with special needs into society.

Youth groups
Many children with Autism are locked in their own worlds, disconnected from others by virtue of the isolating features of the disability. Intolerance, a lack of education, and peer pressure contribute to furthering the divide.

In order to nurture positive social interactions among youth and youth with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, PACCK has made a commitment to work with secondary school students to engage them in a dialogue about Autism Spectrum Disorders and Autism Assistance Canines. The basis of our education program starts with our dogs who serve as exemplars of tolerance and non judgement. By using our Assistance Canines to illustrate the powerful impact of compassion and genuine care on the lives of children with Autism, we intend to inspire youth groups to integrate similar values and attitudes in their approach to individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Health and Social Service Professionals
While research shows the therapeutic benefit of Assistance Canines on children with Autism, many health care professionals have little or no exposure to canine-assisted therapies for children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. PACCK provides conferences and seminars to health and social service professionals that are designed to inform them of our work and to promote awareness that canine assistance can be a positive complimentary service to more conventional therapies.
