Our Autism Assistance Canines are highly specialized for work with children with an Autism Spectrum or Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) diagnosis. They are specially trained to help a child to function at a safer and more comfortable level. Each dog combines the benefits of a therapy dog, the skills of a service dog and the security and safety of a search and rescue dog.
Our Autism Assistance Canines help families with an Autistic child in the following ways:
• Safely Walking in Public
• Behavior Disruption
• Search and Rescue
• A Comforting Friend
• A Social Bridge
• Assistance in the Classroom and in Public Spaces

Asha
Averey
Amelia
Asha
Asha lives and works with Alexis. Since having his dog, Alexis, has been able to sleep though the night – in his own bed! Asha has also greatly assisted with interrupting self-harming behaviours and obsessive-repetitive activities. Alexis has exceeded his parents’ expectations in his verbal skills, speech development and interpersonal bonding.
Averey
Averey lives and works with Yianni. Averey’s sweet and giving nature inspired the entire family to fall in love with him. Yianni had kept his parents on their toes with regular public outburst and anger-filled tantrums; they now feel that they have an additional calming influence and support with Averey that keeps Yianni focused.
“He has exceeded our expectations. He is a wonderful dog!! He is so smart and sweet!! He has helped us all, not only Yianni.” – Yianni’s parents
Amelia
Amelia lives and attends school full-time with Cecilia; they even participated in the school Christmas Pageant together – on stage! Amelia is a celebrated and cherished member of the school and classroom. In addition to winning the hearts of her family, Amelia has helped Cecilia develop her balance and coordination when navigating home, school and outdoor environments.
